Happy 2019 Everyone!

Happy New Year from all of us at teen-chat.org!

May the best of you shine this coming year.

New update for the teen chat room!

Greetings!

If you haven’t noticed already we have updated our chat software to the latest 2.0 version.

The vast majority of the upgrades are from under the hood.  You might notice a slight performance improvement in the chat.   We have also added the ability to geolocate your country and you can share that with the rest of the chat room. (you can disable that from your profile)   Moderators are also now able to kick trouble users out.   Please be on your best behaviour at all times.

We hope you enjoy the new update.

The new forums are live again!

Hello everyone

Hope your summer is going well.   I wanted to take the time now to announce that our chat forums are back online after suffering some technical difficulties.   We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Please take the time now to register and account and participate in a wide range of discussions for teenagers.

What categories do the teen chat forums have?

Website announcements can be found there.  In addition, we have topics including teen advice, dating and relationships, beauty and fashion as well as a members picture section.

If there are any topics/categories you would like to see, please do let us know.

Also, please share you feedback on how we can improve the teen chat forums to make it more active than it is now.

Until next time.

Peace.

Summer is in full swing….

The summer is in full swing now.  Teenagers always have the best time in the summer for one simple reason:  no school!.  (sorry to those attending summer school)

We at teen-chat.org are hoping you are all enjoying your summer and staying safe.   Kick back and relax in one of our chat rooms if you are bored.

Please leave us a comment as to how your summer is currently going.

Are you an IPhone user?

A recent study has indicated that currently a whopping 82% of teenagers own an Iphone.   Meanwhile, 84% of teens expect their next mobile phone to be an Iphone.

The results were from a survey conducted by  Piper Jaffray.

Of course, our chat will work perfectly fine with any mobile device or tablet.

What mobile phone do you use?   Please leave our comments below.

School Shootings – Again?

Hey all!

By now you  probably have heard about the latest school shooting in Florida which happened at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Valentine’s Day.

If this is not a cry for stricter gun control than i don’t know what is.   It is just crazy to think that a teenager who has shown erratic or mental behaviour was able to pass a gun background check system in February 2017.     He was able to get an AR-15.

Another silly thing is, why do people even need an assault rifle?  These are things we see in video games like Call of Duty.  Not something we teenagers should be possessing.   For hunting?  For self defence?  C’mon get real.

As it looks like gun ownership will not be going away anytime soon, we must all do a better job of keeping an eye on people around us.  If you know of anyone demonstrating strange violent behaviour (even if it is stated on social media) , you must be prepared to report this individual to your school or the local authorities.

We need to put an end to this senseless violence once and for all.

Sorry for the rant, but these school shootings are really starting to piss a lot of people off.

New Chat Software coming soon…

Hello teens!

We wanted to announce to you that we will be changing our chat software in the very near future.  We cannot release any details as of yet but we can say it will be worth the wait.

A lot of you have been complaining that there is no block feature and user’s are able to spam at their heart’s content.

Well this will not happen once me make the switchover.  You will be able to block users from posting in the chat rooms.

We will also be hiring more moderators to control the amount of spam or dangerous users who  log onto our site.

Will keep  you posted here for more updates.

Television series for teenagers

One thing teens do a lot of is…watch television.  Sometimes too much.  Our advice is to always keep TV watching at a minimum.   Try to stick to one or two shows at a time and watch perhaps one episode per week.

Here are some of the best all time most popular television series that have been watched by teens from all over the world.

  • Beverly Hill 90210
  • The Vampire Diaries
  • Pretty Little Liars
  • Teen Wolf
  • Gossip Girl
  • Glee
  • The O.C.
  • Boy Meets World
  • Buffy the Vampire Slayer
  • Smallville
  • That 70’s Show
  • Skins
  • Pretty Little Liars
  • One Tree Hill
  • Awkward.

Most of these are available on various networks on television or purchase on DVD or Blu-ray at your favorite local retailers.   Give them a shot, we are sure you will find them all entertaining.

Happy New Year 2018

Wow, can’t believe how fast 2017 went by.  We hope everything went well for you all.

Set your goals, stick to them, appreciate your family and friends….just a few things we can all do better.

Stay tuned for exciting new changes to our site this year.   We are keeping it a secret for now but stay tuned to these blogs for more information.

Happy New Year everyone!

Preparing yourself for college and university

Long time no speak.  We are hoping you are having or had a great summer.

So you are a recent graduate and you need to prepare for college life!

What an exciting time isn’t it?

Some suggestions we can make is to be prepared.  Visit your campus ahead of time and familiarize yourself with the surroundings.  If you will be living on campus, prepare all the necessary living arrangements beforehand.  You don’t want to wait until the last minute.      This will also help with safety.

Another suggestion we can give you is to prepare yourself for a heavier workload.  College life is a little different than high school life so you will need to prepare more thoroughly.   That means studying harder, reading more and being more technical.   Utilize all the tools you can by learning how to use technology better.

More likely  than not, you will be looking to make new friends.  Now is the time to put the video game controller down and work on your public and people skills.  Meet new friends and treat everyone with respect.  After all, people will treat you the way that you treat them.

One thing you can also do is consider to work part time somewhere.  College life becomes a little bit more expensive especially if you will be moving out from your parent’s house.   Be prepared for a slightly more expensive life and the work experience can only help you down the road.

It is also important that you get involved in your school’s activities.  This is a good way to assimilate yourself into the new environment and a great way to make new friends.

Have a chat with other teenagers heading to college and share your stories with them.  This can only help.

Good luck!
