Voice calling has been added as a new feature for VIPs

Hey teens!

We have added a new feature that is currently only available to be initiated by VIP members.

VIPs will be able to initiate voice calls to other users (must be registered).  Simply click their profile and press the Call link.

If you do not want to receive any calls from VIP users, please go to your profile settings using this path:  Edit Profile > More > Preferences > Call (Set to Off) and then click Save.

The maximum call duration is 1 hour.

Update of our chat software to version 6.0

Hi everyone

It has been a little while since we last posted but we are here to announce an update to our chat software.

Some of the latest features includes a new game called Keno you can enjoy.  This game allows you to bet your gold to try to win more gold.   Depending on your actual bet, the returns can be very high.

You can see the actual payout after you choose the numbers you want to choose.  The more you match, the more you win.

This game is for entertainment purposes only.  No actual money is being exchanged.  Please play responsibly.  This game is available for all registered users to play.

Some other features we included include the ability for VIPs to enter the chat invisibly and a new AI bot we call bobby.  That name is only temporary.   Bobby can communicate and answer all your questions and even have a conversation with you.  This feature is also available to VIP users only.

Teen Chat has been updated to version 4.0

Hey all!

This post is to announce that an update to version 4 has occurred for several days already.

There is a laundry list of new features included in this update.

Some of the coolest features include a new gift system.  This system allows for users to send each other small gift icons.  The gifts can be purchased using the virtual coin of the teen chat called Gold.   To earn gold, you must participate in the chat.  The longer you stay, the more gold you can accumulate.   You can also purchase more gold in our Gold Store by accessing the link to the store on the left menu.

Other cool features included in the update are mainly for VIP members.  VIPs can now quote other users in the chat and in private.

Newest Teen Chat Admins

Hey everyone!

Hope you all have been doing well.  The end of school isn’t far away.  With time, comes changes.  If you have not noticed already, we currently have appointed 2 new admins for Teen Chat.

Both of our new Admins come with a substantial amount of experience as moderators and administrators of various other chat sites.

We would like you to welcome Arkham and Annie (Update: FIRED!).  I am sure they will do an outstanding job and are certainly welcome additions to the team.   Arkham is temporarily helping with the transition between Admins and will be with the team indefinitely until further notice.

We cannot finish this post without giving thanks to Kevin, the previous Admin.  He was a good admin but he decided to step down.  Sometimes change is good.  We wish him well.

Look forward to continually grow our community and bring new and exciting changes very soon.  Stay tuned!

A Very Halloteen Halloween; a Halloween History.

Hey everyone!

Hope the year has gone well so far for all.    The time is near for one of our favorite events of the year.  Take a break from Teen Chat and read on:

When the first autumn leaf falls. When warm pumpkin spice fills the air. When the blissful breeze sends chills down your spine. When warm cozy knitted scarves snug around your neck. When Jason, Freddy, and Micheal find their way into your recommendations. You know it’s that time of year again!
The time of year for gathering up with friends and getting candy dressed as your favorite character, or like one your mom made you dress up as. What is that time of year you may ask?
Halloween; of course!
Halloween is arguably the best holiday ever, but where exactly did it come from? Have people always put little pumpkins on their porch steps, or always dress in funny costumes to get candy? What exactly happened in order for this wonderful holiday to become so well known throughout the world? Was it something as arguably major as the birth of Christ? Or maybe death? There’s a lot more to this Spook Fest Holiday than we give credit for! Maybe, just maybe, if you keep reading there’s something you haven’t learned before.
Halloween has been around for a lot longer than you may think. See, lots of people think Halloween came from All Hallows Eve; but, believe it or not, it goes back further than that!
The first ever records of “Halloween” are over two thousand five hundred years ago, celebrated by the bright group of Celtic peoples.
However they called these few days of celebration Samhain (SAH-win). Celts would celebrate Samhain from Oct. 31st to November 1st, during the fall equinox and winter solstice.
Samhain was considered the most important of the four fire festivals, due to when it took place.
They would call this “the dark half of the year” where the people who celebrated believed that the barriers from the spiritual world to our world would be faulty. Since they believed the barriers to be down, they would leave offerings to outside Faeries or Sidhs.
Despite the fact they left offerings; Celts were afraid that faeries would kidnap them and drag them into the Otherworld. This is where costumes come into play!
They would dress as animals and monsters to hide.
After centuries Pope Boniface – a devout catholic – was dead set on reforming the holiday. He made a new day on May 13th to give kudos to the Saints and Martyrs. However this plan was not to be the last change to Halloween!
Years later in the 9th century Pope Gregory moved the day back to the equinox and solstice, however, he changed the name. He declared the days, “All Saints Day” and “All Souls Day” would follow. These days are where the people of the church would go celebrate the life of their lost ones.
Unfortunately to the priests, these changes did not revoke all aspects of paganism.
So these two holidays split completely. October 31st became All Hallows Eve or Halloween!
Trick or treating is said to come from old Irish practices leading up to Samhain. Irish people would dress up and go door to door, mumming themselves – or dressing up in costumes – and go door to door to sing songs to the dead, giving cakes and candy as payments.
All Souls and Saints day are still around and celebrated in the Catholic Church, November 1st to November 2nd. Pretty amazing isn’t it?
Next time you go to trick or treat to get your favorite candies, remember the long and grueling history of this holiday. Where people would hide and thank spirits and monsters, hoping they would survive yet another year.

New Teen Chat Admins

Hey everyone!

There have been some changes in the staff recently, many of you have probably already noticed this but we want to explain the changes and the purposes of them.

Teen chat now have 2 admins, Kevin who was hired back in January and reeebsss who was recently hired, in the beginning of March.

You might wonder why there are 2 admins now. There are quite a few reasons. The most important one being the strive for an improved user experience. With a combined knowledge in administration, and experience on other sites, the admins will now work in favor of finding new ways to improve the user experience by more extensive analyzing in regards of the chatting experience. One example of that is now the efforts made in adding more languages to the site. We have a wide variety of multilingual mods and with the addition of reeebsss we now have another admin with great knowledge in languages aside from English. This is one of many ideas that are to come and be enforced by the new administration.

Another benefit with two admins will be the increased security. They will catch the perverts faster and more effectively as well as making sure the moderators are the best ones possible. We want to keep the same security, and even raise it. All for your own safety and experience on this site.
