TEEN CHAT ORG SAFETY ADVICE

Hi y'all it's Prachi/Pratsi from the chat! ♡

We want to ensure your experience on Org is as fun and safe as possible! But with socializing on the internet, safety should come first which is why we want to provide you with a few quick and easy tips you can follow

* Note:
It may be quite overwhelming if this is your first time visiting a website where users can communicate with one another online, but it doesn't have to be at all. Nobody should ever feel uncomfortable talking to someone online since it should always be enjoyable for everybody. Because of the nature of the Internet, it would be difficult for us to advise each and every user on what to do. We can only provide this advice and hope that you follow them carefully. If you follow the safety advice provided here, you will avoid ever suffering injury while using the Internet.

Please read the following carefully whenever you do visit social networking or websites with chat communication functions or features:
Safety should not just be limited to this website — If you are using other social media platforms, and sharing them with others, this would apply to all of those because they have the same risks. The fact is ALL applications and websites with kids are a potential target.

1.) Do not give out any of your personal information; keep your personal information private at all times.
● This can include: Full names, addresses, passwords, socials, phone numbers...etc...
◦No matter how trustworthy they seem, it is best to play it safe as possible with handing out any personal information.
◦Giving out social media to someone you just met is a very dangerous. These people who ask for your socials immediately usually do it to hide themselves from our moderation.
◦We are not prohibiting you from sharing your social media but we ask you to exercise caution when doing so as not everyone might be friendly even if they seem.

2.) This teen chat website only allows users aged between 13 and 19 years old. Only chat with others around your age group. Do not talk to older overaged men or women who are not supposed to be in this room.
● Please report them to a moderator and/or your local police if necessary if they are asking you to do or about inappropriate things.
◦ Remember, you are under no obligation to talk to anyone in the chat rooms.
◦ If you are messaged by someone who is a few years out of your tolerance level, simply stop talking to them or place them on ignore if it makes you uncomfortable.
◦ However, anyone under the age of 13 should also be reported to a moderator as that is also a violation of our terms of service. Those accounts will also be subject to a ban and removal.

3.) Do not ever meet anyone in real life. That is extremely dangerous. Please do not ever do it no matter how much you trust the person you are chatting with. We cannot emphasize this point enough. Just don't do it.
● Any "meetup" or "hookup" talk is also strictly prohibited; If you see anyone talking about this, please immediately report it.

4.) Do not use inappropriate usernames or profile pictures. We do not suggest you use your real photo. Other users can use that to search for your other social media profiles online. It is best to choose a random picture as your profile avatar.
● It is also against the rules to use another person's picture as your own...AKA catfishing
◦ If your profile picture and/or BG is not you, please specify "PFP/BG is not me" in your bio."

5.) If someone is unexpectedly being flattering to you, be on guard. A predator may be using that as a trick to allow him or her to engage in riskier conversations with you.
● This is known as a tactic called "grooming," please be careful, and report them to a moderator if needed.

6.) Do not reply to anyone who might be bullying you. These people are just looking for more attention from you. It is not worth it to continue on a discussion.
● Report them to a moderator and click "Ignore."

7.) Be mindful of any links.
● Links are prohibited to be posted in the chat but if a user or bot is posting links DO NOT CLICK THEM.
◦Some of these unknown links may contain harmful content such as inappropriate images or viruses.

8.) Always prioritize your mental health — Please give personal life over TC at all times
● We recommend taking frequent breaks We know how exhausting it can be to be online 24/7
◦ If needed, you can always delete your account, just head over to your profile, under "More," then select "Delete account." You can change your mind anytime within 2 weeks, and then make a new account as you please

-If a violation occurs in private chat, click the gear icon () -->"Report"-->Select any reason and send.

-If a profile violation occurs, open the profile --> open the options menu --> "Report" --> Select any reason and send.

-If a main chat violation occurs, click the 3 dots at the side of the message --> "Report" --> Select any reason and send.
