Did tiktok destroy Gen Z?

As the news of the tiktok ban being signed by Biden came to light. It brought up questions about the reasonings behind such a ban. People made it about Palestine and Israel while others with more logic declared that it was damaging the young people of America and Britain.

The people who support Palestine say that they are the reason for the ban, due to the hashtags being shared on the platform and the growth of support. They are correct about the hashtags being used but the dangers of tiktok have been around since before the war began.

It is well known that since the start of tiktok and unfortunately through COVID. People have become more mentally unstable than ever before. Such as attention spans being destroyed to only a few seconds, where even YouTube videos are unable to keep an audience due to people leaving after 30 seconds.

There is also the issue of an uprise in people becoming "non binary" - or whatever silly new terms there are for anything not male or female.

The reason tiktok is being banned in the US is because the company who owns it is a Chinese based company who allegedly steals peoples info and apparently is a threat to the US government, the company was given the chance to sell it to a more reliable "government approved" company.

Overall the app, like most, can be both good and bad. Depending on the content which I think would be the creators fault and the app would possibly need better moderation on things posted.

I can definitely understand why America would want tiktok to be owned by a Chinese company. Especially because of how China is one of the most surveillance ridden countries in the world.
