on chat why does it censor when i just say "without the". it doesnt make any sense. its not inherently bad? its just normal words?

The filtering is junk and we know that but we can not do anything about it. It is prolly cuz often bots come up saying "without the spaces" and stuff like that

Yes and no.

The way to filter works is that it takes any mention of the term.

STR for example.

Anytime you write and chat the moment you hit the send button it runs through a process called word_fliter which runs your whole message through the filter and anything in the filter that triggers it such as saying I am straight it will scan each word individually in the moment it sees the term str in straight it will believe your bypassing the filter.

It is not a bot or the system it is literally a function that scans the message and compares it with a list of not accepted words.

Literally the only way to fix this is to get an add-on that overwrites it.

So no the filter is doing exactly what it's supposed to do it's just the process / function which is inconvenient to users.

that still doesnt explain why "without the" is in the filters list

Yeah if u dont want me to correct u then u gotta do the same just like Roja said.

oh yes, i know, thank you. id also like the tech guys answer though.
So using my explanation it means that there's a word/part of a word/ term in the filter that is the same as something that's in "without the" that triggers it.

I can't say exactly what it is as I don't have access to Teen Chat filter but I'd recommend that the admin @Arkham take a look or @Administrator to see if the term needs to stay or be removed.

Let me give you an example of how the filter can sometimes work against you, even if you do not say anything technically against the rules.

Let's take this phrase "that was a fast racecar".

Now, you would think that would be an innocent comment, but what the sensor grabs is three letters that are placed in order.

Let's do that phrase again, and I will point out the letters.

That was a fast racecar.

As you can see, the sensor catches the STR, which the pedophiles use, as it means Send To Receive
