Site blocks me for claiming I use a VPN when I don't have a VPN

My IP Address is: ***************. Instead of being a paranoid fool and suggesting that I should not show my IP Address. The IP Address is worthless without the wi-fi password. The password is 10 characters with numbers and upper and lower case letters. That is 60 characters to the power of 10. A number so large that if you could guess 1,000 passwords per second, it would take 2 million years to guess them all.

I called my internet provider, Cable One AKA Sparklight. They told me they do not use VPNs and suggested that I contact this site.. Moreover, if you G o o g l e "Getting message VPN has been detected when I do not use a VPN," the reason given is "Typically, such messages are displayed because your IP address is from the ranges used by VPNs." Therefore, the site did not detect a VPN. Instead, they block my IP address because it falls within a range that might be used by VPNs.

This is what Google is ladies and gentlemen.

You are mixing up true with misinformation.

But to clear up things it is not only a VPN but a proxy detection as well and I personally just ran your IP address and it comes up having a proxy.

Meaning that no matter what unless that proxy is removed you won't be granted access to the site unless you use another internet connection / electronic device.

{More information is coming regarding misinformation in this thread once I have time}

I am back.

First thank you @Arkham for removing the IP address as I forgot to ping you.

Next.

Depending on how much you want to invest in this you can crack passwords pretty quickly depending on the graphics card and system.

Recently there was a system that got invented that can crack almost every password nearly instantaneously.

Also please stop googling information. It causes faulty information for a lot of people.

For evidence showing my proof here is the most recent 2025 password chart and remember this was using only one graphics card which means adding another will divide the time in half.

There is not a bit of truth in you. Even your chart states it will take 238,000 years to crack my wi-fi password.

Cable One, Inc. is an American broadband communications provider. Under the Sparklight brand, it provides cable television, internet, and phone services to 24 U.S. states and 1.1 million residential and business customers. If they say they don't provide VPNs, then they don't provide VPNs. The problem is not Cable One. The problem is that Teen-Chat is claiming my IP Address is a VPN when it is not. It is based on the fact that instead of detecting a VPN, they are blocking my IP address because it happens to fall within the range of IP addresses used by VPNs.

Teen-Chat needs to fix their problem and either just search for VPNs or else, exclude my IP address from their list of IP addresses that they block.

Staff can't do anything about the vpn/proxy auto kicks. Its done by the system.

Alrighty I do apologize for the late response as I did have to go to work.

Let's dig into your stupidity which is a word I do not like using that much but when it comes to people who don't read and just attack

If you read my comment before the chart you will hear that I said that they use a basic system as well as One graphics card which is why I said using more than one and a stronger system will make it easier to crack.

Please read and understand before you say something.

After just googling Cable One the first part of this said paragraph can be found on Google.

Literally word for word.

Here is set proof.

Next I don't think you understand what lying is.

Literally every company lies but back to what I was saying before they are true that there's no VPN on your internet connection but there is a proxy.

As I also stated before I personally ran your IP address before the admin removed it and found that there was a proxy but no VPN on said IP address.

In case if you do not know what a proxy is I did the same thing as you and googled what is a proxy and here is your answer since it looks like my detailed answers are too logical and detailed for you.

Yes there's no VPN on your IP address but there is a proxy.

Basically your internet provider is not only giving you a connection to the internet but it is also processing and redirecting all of your internet usage.

Everything that you search up or use the internet for is logged and categorized through a separate system directly for your internet provider.

Yes this happens for everyone but your personal internet provider has a separate system which is considered a proxy which is directly the reason why you aren't able to log in or create an account because the system sees a said collection device/proxy/internet logger and immediately deems it as a proxy because that is what it is as a separate changing characteristic to your internet.

So once again yes I do know what I'm talking about and no I'm not full of lies.

Search up your information properly before you come thinking you know everything and copying and pasting from Google.

Now to once again elaborate on what @0X0XRhea said
Staff can't do anything about the vpn/proxy auto kicks. Its done by the system.
We just use an API key which basically connects the site to a system which by itself processes and seeing if there is a proxy or a VPN and if it deems that there is one then the site restricts access.

This is normal and done by multitudes of sites to stop bot activity it's just that more known sites like Google and others either have a system that is able to deeply check to make sure it is not a bot or don't care enough to implement said system.

Now once again to elaborate this cannot be changed as it is a third party system which is checking if it is a VPN or proxy and it is none of our doing as we are not manually logging IP addresses.

You'll have to talk to your set provider, Cable ONE / sparklink and see what they can do about either A changing the way they process your internet usage or B moving you to a different form so it what register as a proxy but that is nearly impossible because most likely it is a company implemented thing meaning it is happening for the whole company.

Obviously, you are mistaken because Cable One didn't suddenly change its method of doing things. I have used this site for over a year without any problems until several days ago. I believe that is because Cable One changed my IP address to an IP address that is within the range of IP addresses that some VPNs use.

Regardless, it is a Teen-Chat problem. Since it has happened to me, it has happened to dozens of others who were prevented from creating an account or were kicked off when their internet provider changed their IP address, which I understand they do on occasion. The proper solution is for this site to change its programming to detect VPNs and stop blocking IP addresses that may have been used with VPNs.

Apparently, until then, my only solution is to change my IP address. According to Sparklight's technical support, if I take my old modem in and replace it with another modem, I will have a different IP address. I will do that tomorrow. That will solve my problem, but it does not solve this site's programming problem.

Why does the thread need to be closed just because the OP chooses to disagree with your opinions??
No I'm requesting this thread to be closed because I have explained the problem to her and have told her how to fix the problem and have also clarified the site's position on here.

She fails to understand or just doesn't want to and continuously blames the site and says that I do not have no knowledge or proper information and something that I've been doing for about 2 to 3 years now.

If she fails or doesn't want to do the proper steps then this thread is just here for nonsense which is why I requested for it to be closed before any other problems arise.
