I can't for the life of me put my hair into a 3 strand braid. Help?

I know that my hair is long enough to, I just struggle at it very badly. I've searched up videos they haven't really helped me.

I have. I lose track of the 3 different strands after the first crossing over, and they all get mixed back up
 
I suck at doing my hair too tbh, i remember when i was young my parents made me get it cut super short cuz i never looked after it. Later on i then dyed my hair and wrecked it with bleach so Old habits never die.
