You were advertising your server. You can make friends on tc itself. There is no need to get them into some kind of server

I got IP banned even though at first it was a 2 hour ban which made more sense

Everyone who does what you did. Gets banned... Eventually. Why can't you simply make friends on Tc? Why do you have to take them someplace else? I mean not trying to accuse. But I can only imagine a couple of reasons. None of them are good. Just wait out the ban, 30 days. And if you return... Don't make the same mistake.
