anyone got tips for sleep?

keep in mind i have a very bad injury to my brain so most suggestions might not work but im still gonna try.
for two years ive had this injury and have been told by doctors that this side effect may happen it started 2 months ago, i havent been to school in those two months and i am no longer up in the day so im basically nocturnal i am writing this at 5 am ive been up for around 12 hours
ive tried lots of exercise, no electronics, staying up for 24 hrs, melatonin, tylenol pm, tea, baths with herbal scents to induce sleep, unisom, and some other very minor things to try and make myself more tired if you have anything else please let me know!
 
I understand that doctors don't have any recommendations either? Melatonin and herbal tea are not medications in the strict sense and don't require a prescription to be bought and used. Did the doctors offer you any sleeping meds? I would suggest talking to the doctor (maybe a different one than your usual) or therapy. The cause of insomnia could be a combination of both your injury and intrusive thoughts keeping you awake. You may be oblivious to those thoughts as well and they can be subconscious like: will I sleep tonight? Will I struggle again? etc. That can keep you awake as well as a side effect you mentioned.
